Landscape Construction Auckland

Residential outdoor construction project by Absolute Landscaping in Auckland

We take care of the construction side of your outdoor project, from retaining and ground preparation through to decks, fences, paving and finishing details. One contractor controls the site, the sequence and the practical decisions that make the finished space work properly.

John and Absolute Landscaping have just completed an extensive landscaping project on my home, and I am very pleased with the result.

Work entailed the complete renewal of all fences(approx 45m) the building of a solid platform for a shed/studio stepping down to a fully concreted outdoor living area, as well as a new set of stairs off my conservatory.

In some cases there were complexities involved that were navigated and solved quite simply due to John’s expertise and extensive landscaping knowledge.

I would have no hesitation in highly recommending John and his team to anyone in the future.

Construction decisions that need to work together

Brand new deck and incorporated retaining wall shining in the sun after a bit of rain

Outdoor construction projects often involve several connected parts. A retaining wall affects the deck. The deck height affects the steps. The fence line may need to work around the wall. Paving depends on levels, drainage and access. Small decisions made early in the job can affect how the whole space looks and functions when it is finished.

When one contractor takes responsibility for the full site, those decisions are easier to manage. If a wall needs to move slightly, a post line needs adjusting, or the ground conditions are different from expected, the project can be adapted without creating a dispute between separate trades.

More than the visible finish

Good landscape construction is not only about the finished surface. A deck, fence, retaining wall or paved area depends on the work underneath and around it: post holes, framing, drainage, ground levels, backfill, access, set-outs and how each part connects to the next.

Plans are useful, but real sites often require practical judgement once excavation starts. Ground conditions, existing structures, buried services, drainage paths and access constraints can all affect the final construction decisions. We work through those details on site so the finished outdoor area is not just tidy, but practical and properly put together.
